Cars in Germany's City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Authorities reported they were alerted by a individual who discovered a car in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been applied in the form of a swastika, they stated.

Officers then located many other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Officials say early analysis indicate the liquid was probably blood from a person.

"Currently there is no clue as to its source; officials are presently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

Local authorities stated they were working "to solve the case" and have requested to the public for tips.

An important official said the vandalism left him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, referring to the death of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at residents of migrant background in 2020.
