Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets struck the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Area administrators said the city endured significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were injured.

The attacks follow evenings of air raids in the area, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting energy systems.

He said energy workers and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
